GAJA MAYURA
₹21,000.00
An enchanted garden, a royal procession, and stories woven in silk.
Gaja Mayura is a saree that feels like a beautiful old painting brought to life.
Set against a rich olive-green silk canvas, delicate floral vines bloom in soft shades of pink, peach and gold, while intricately detailed elephants wander gracefully through the design. There is something wonderfully nostalgic about it — reminiscent of the painted walls of royal palaces and the gardens they once overlooked.
And then comes the contrast.
A soft powder-blue border and richly detailed pallu introduce graceful peacocks, blooming florals and intricate ornamental patterns. The delicate Meenakari detailing adds layers of colour to the weave, making every motif feel like a tiny work of art.
The natural lustre of pure Kanjeevaram silk gives the saree its beautiful richness, while the flowing drape allows the elaborate patterns to shine.
It is regal without being predictable. Traditional, yet effortlessly contemporary.

The Craft Story
Kanjeevaram silk is celebrated for its rich texture, natural lustre and beautifully structured drape.
What makes Gaja Mayura particularly special is its intricate Meenakari weaving. Inspired by the art of enamelling, Meenakari in textiles introduces additional coloured threads into woven motifs, creating multicoloured details against the silk ground.
The elephants, delicate floral vines and ornamental peacocks form a richly layered composition, while the contrasting blue pallu brings depth and definition to the design.
The interplay of colourful motifs, intricate weaving and luminous pure silk gives this saree its distinctive character.
The Story in the Weave
The elephant, or Gaja, has long been associated with royalty, strength and prosperity in Indian artistic traditions.
The peacock, or Mayura, represents beauty, grace and celebration.
Together, surrounded by an abundance of flowers and foliage, they create a scene reminiscent of an Indian royal garden — where nature, art and heritage come together.
From Tamil Nadu
Rooted in the celebrated Kanjeevaram silk tradition of Tamil Nadu, Gaja Mayura reflects the beauty of South Indian textile artistry, where borders, colours and intricate motifs tell stories that transcend generations.
